"Not Batman, Stop Asking"

Film: The Bat (1959)

Alias: Andy Anderson

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted Home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: There will no need for vampires to fill the night with terror. For there's another bat-related freak-show in the shadows. It is the black figure known as the Bat. And he's got his sights on the spoils of the dead, preferably the one's he helps become the dead.

History: Driven by greed and a penchant for murder, Lieutenant Andy Anderson took on the alias of the Bat, a serial killer that would mutilate his foes and sic bats on the unsuspecting. He planned to steal millions worth in bank securities, and was on the good path to success. He even had someone to blame for his wrongdoings: a researcher on bats played by Vincent Price. It was a near flawless plan.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: He had it all in the bag, but ultimately, the Bat's crimes caught up to him, as a detective managed to ambush him and shoot him at point blank range as he gloated over his victory. It is at this point that everyone learns that the killer was Anderson the whole time (which shouldn't have been surprising, seeing how he was always grouchy, wearing a nice hat like the Bat's, wrapped in shadow, etc).

Powers/Abilities: The Bat comes equipped with gloves armed with razor-sharp claw-like nails that can lacerate human skin, a cunning intelligence, and trained bats that can make for decent assassins and/or sources of hysteria.

Weakness: Anything conventional. His ego might also get in the way of his antics.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-A calculating individual, the Bat blends into the shadows perfectly, and there is always a sense of dread whenever he's around. It doesn't help that his face literally looks like a black void.

Trivia: -This film is the fourth adaptation of the 1908 film, "The Circular Staircase".

-The Bat's claws seem to be partially inspired by the Neko-Te, an Eastern weapon often used by the primarily female ninja group known as the Kunoichi.

Remember that omen, folks.

Somehow, that looks worse than the bat we got.
One is the killer...the rest...the victims.

The shadow of the bat leaves none alive.
A lightning bat! Run!

"Tip toe...through the window..."
Can we go back to the creepy shadow-man?

A helpful note all about how the night is going to become a nightmare.
